Smart Carrier (SC) drives for Gen8, Gen9 and Gen10 servers have been in the marketplace since early 2012. Now, for the first time in almost 12 years, a new HPE drive carrier has been released. Customers will now have to ensure that the HPE hard drive or SSD they are ordering is compatible with their HPE server. The newly released Basic Carrier (BC) drives are only compatible with a select number of "Model X" Gen10 servers, and all Gen10 Plus and Gen11 HPE servers. Smart Carrier (SC) drives will not work in Gen10 Plus and Gen11 servers!
